All materials we work with have a story, a story that has been drawn from the earth over millions of years, crafted by our artisans, and set permanently by us, in your homes. This is a guide to the stones we are familiar with.
Chosen for beauty. Selected for permanence
For more than 10 years, at NaturaStone Design, we’ve developed connections with the world’s most prestigious quarries, ranging from the Carrara marble valleys in Italy to the ancient granite formations in the Brazilian Cerrado, the porcelain workshops in Spain, and the quartzite ridges in Brazil. All of the materials we supply have been tried and tested for their appearance, durability, and ability to enhance any ordinary room into a room that is quietly special.
In any home or commercial project, one of the most critical choices is what kind of surface the home or building has. It influences the feel beneath the feet, how it will age with family use, and how it will retain its beauty over decades. We don’t just sell you a slab; we help you, with expert care and wisdom, find the slab that’s right for you.
Our full material portfolio is below, which represents six different categories of materials, each with its own character, strengths, and applications.

Infinite possibilities.
01. Marble Countertops
- No other material in the world is as elegant as marble. Marble is a stone that has been formed over millions of years and is subject to high temperatures and pressure, and no two slabs are alike or indeed can be fabricated by a fabricator to duplicate what has been written in stone by the earth.
- We import marble from some of the most sanctified quarries of Italy (Statuario, Calacatta, and Carrara), Greece, Turkey, and Portugal. The slabs are already pre-selected, here in the Orlando workshop, according to their vein pattern, tonal depth, and structural integrity. We bring a slab and it becomes a work of art.
- For bathroom vanities, fireplace surrounds, feature walls, and statement kitchen islands, where looks are the most important part, marble is the material of choice. But it does need sealing and some care and maintenance from time to time, and those who select marble know that as much as they know that the marble is a surface, they’re selecting a legacy. We train all of our clients how to maintain their marble, and we guarantee every installation, having installed hundreds of marble slabs with no quality compromised.

Quartzite Natural Stone · Metamorphic
Quartzite
- As one of the misinterpreted and, in many ways, one of the most spectacular materials in the world of stone, quartzite is one that needs to be better understood. Quartzite is a very hard natural product that can often be mistaken for quartz (a man-made product) or marble (a softer metamorphic stone). It comes out of a pure sandstone that has been highly geologically pressured, and therefore it has the visual qualities of marble and the strength of granite, an unusual and beautiful combination.
- Our carefully selected line features varieties with different natures: Electric greens and blues, warm champagnes, and dramatic charcoals.
- It’s also a good choice for dramatic bathroom sinks and outdoor use, when natural stone is subject to natural weathering. We’re experienced in cutting and finishing quartzite, and not only is it a challenging material, but it’s also a material that demands a certain expertise to truly bring out the beauty. Quartzite is a challenging material, and one that requires some expertise to really bring out the beauty, and we have plenty of that.

Granite Natural Stone · Igneous
Granite
- Granite is the rock that forms the backbone of the stone fabrication industry, and it’s no surprise why. Granite is one of the oldest and most common of the igneous rocks, and is formed in great depth under the earth’s surface at high temperatures. This is what makes it so hard. It is scratch, heat, and, when properly sealed, highly stain resistant. Granite is truly an unbeatable option for those who wish to bring a natural touch to their home’s décor while retaining the utmost performance.
- There is an incredible diversity in granite. Our granite range covers dozens of origins and colorways from bold and dramatic to deep and almost cosmic, from warm ivory to rich earth. Each of our colors is uniquely distinct. The crystals that are found in the Brazilian granites are exceptionally complex, embodying a light-catching quality that cannot be duplicated in engineered materials in our workshop.
- Granite is used at NaturaStone Design in a variety of applications, ranging from kitchen countertops to outdoor kitchens, BBQ areas, commercial bar tops, and large format flooring. One of our trademark features is the invisible seam technique that we use and have used many times with granite; matching veins and crystal patterns across an invisible seam is what sets us apart from a contractor. It is a detail that our clients pick up very quickly and will never forget.
04
Quartz Engineered Stone · Quartz Composite
Quartz
- One of the biggest breakthroughs in surface technology in the past 30 years is engineered quartz, which is made up of about 90% to 95% natural quartz crystals embedded in a matrix of polymer resins. Natural stones should be sealed and properly cared for every few years, whereas quartz surfaces have no pores and are essentially stain, moisture, and bacteria proof.
- Modern quartz has come a long way and now offers an extensive range of aesthetics. Today’s best quartz slabs, those manufactured by companies that we trust, are a close facsimile of Statuario marble, Calacatta gold, concrete, or even raw stone. Some have criticized the uniformity of patterning, but for a large installation where there is a strong emphasis on visual uniformity, throughout a whole kitchen or a commercial setting, this is a great strength.
- Just like natural stone, our fabrication team works with quartz to the highest standards. Our cuts and edges are precise and refined, our installations seamless. In our workshop, there is no “low maintenance” job; all materials get our attention.
05
Porcelain Sintered Stone · Ultra-Compact
Porcelain
- Large-format porcelain and sintered stone surfaces are the state-of-the-art in today’s surface design. These extremely dense and strong slabs are fired to a temperature of more than 1200°C and can reach the hardness of up to the hardest natural stone. The result is a surface that is scratch-proof, UV-resistant, heat-resistant, and stain-proof, and is also frost-proof, which would be the case on granite surfaces.
- Modern porcelain slabs can be cut to up to 320 × 160cm, producing the seamless surface that is the hallmark of modern architecture, with no need for any grout lines. The elegance of design in the form of a perfect copy of Nero Marquina marble, raw concrete, aged bronze, or exotic stones that may be no longer found in nature is a thing of beauty in sintered porcelain and one that can be far more durable than its natural counterpart.
- At NaturaStone Design, we use large-format porcelain for full-height kitchen wall cladding, continuous kitchen island and kitchen counter installations, exterior cladding, and outdoor terraces, as well as bespoke furniture applications like side tables and dining tables. Cutting and installing large-format porcelain presents a lot of technical challenges: If the cut is just off, the slab can cause significant damage, and our craftsmen are well-trained and equipped for the precision tasks involved with cutting and installation.

Solid Surfaces Engineered · Acrylic Composite
Solid Surfaces
- From Corian to a succession of innovative manufacturers, solid surface materials fit into a special niche in the realm of surface design. Solid surfaces are made of acrylic polymers and natural mineral fillers that are non-porous, easily connected, thermoformable, and can be repaired. They are used everywhere, from integrated sinks to curved countertops, furniture-grade surfaces, healthcare, and high-concept interior installations, wherever form needs to follow function, with uncompromising precision.
- The very special feature of solid surfaces is that the joint is invisible. Two blocks of solid surface can be joined so tightly that there’s no sign of a seam. We strive to do this in all our products, and here is one of the best. The surface’s ability to run for an extended period as a countertop, wrap around in a kitchen, or be used in any type of application where the surface must be a single large piece with apparent continuity, even though it is only a single piece.
- We operate on solid surfaces in a range of projects from hospitality to healthcare to luxury residential, where bespoke shaping is not a luxury, but a must. Solid surface has a lot of applications, such as curved breakfast bars, integrated basins, continuous reception desk surfaces, and wall-to-ceiling cladding systems. Unlike natural stone, small scratches and surface damage can be sanded and buffed out, and the surface can be restored to its original condition, so there will be no visible signs of repair. When clients desire both beauty and function, and they want something that will last long-term, solid surface is a great option.
