What is Quartz?
Quartz countertops are an engineered stone that is composed of about 90-95% crushed natural quartz crystals, held together by polymer resins and pigments. This makes the surface much more durable, level, and easier to clean than most natural stone options.
Due to the fact that the manufacturing process involves 100% sealing, quartz will never need sealing, harbor bacteria, or absorb liquids. It comes in hundreds of colors and patterns, ranging from pristine whites and soft grays to patterned ones to show off the marble or quartzite effect.
There’s an important difference between quartz and quartzite. Quartzite is the natural counterpart of each engineered product of quartz countertops, and it is quarried directly from the ground. Granite is another natural material that, unlike quartz, is porous and needs to be sealed periodically to prevent stains. Quartz is as beautiful as natural stone and requires no maintenance.

Our Quartz Fabrication Process
At NaturaStone Design, we do it all in-house, no third-party contractors, no handoffs, no surprises! The process is as follows:
- Consultation: Discussing goals, design preferences, and budget for your project. Our Orlando showroom staff guides you through all of the quartz choices that are available.
- In-store Slab Selection: Select your quartz slab in our showroom. Seeing and touching the material makes all the difference in final satisfaction.
- Templating: Our team comes to your house to make accurate digital measurements of your space, so that all cuts are precise before we start producing.
- Fabrication: Slabs are cut, edged, and finished at our in-house facility with the use of a CNC machine to give you the most precise result. At this point, edge profiles and cutouts are finished.
